Session Outline

Supporting student wellbeing in higher education requires more than traditional interventions—it demands accessible, actionable, and empowering tools. Wellbeing A–Z is a comprehensive suite of issue-specific, skills-based resources designed for university students to use immediately. These resources aim to instill hope and optimism by enabling students to take practical steps toward solving their own challenges.

Unlike approaches focused solely on psychological therapy, Wellbeing A–Z connects students to a diverse range of supports across multiple platforms—videos, podcasts, helplines, apps, websites, and in-person activities. Developed with strong student voice input, the resources reflect authentic needs and preferences, ensuring relevance, inclusivity, and quality.

This interactive workshop will:

Showcase the development process behind Wellbeing A–Z and explain why the University of Bath adopted this innovative approach.

Demonstrate practical application of selected resources through hands-on activities.

Explore strategies for staff—including academic advisors, departmental administrators, and technicians—to use these tools in individualized ways when supporting students.

Participants will leave with practical insights and tested techniques to integrate Wellbeing A–Z into their own student support practices, fostering resilience and proactive problem-solving among students.
