Learning Activity

Overview

In the UK, there exists a significant and persistent disparity in academic outcomes and attainment for Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) students. Despite some progress in recent times, BAME students continue to lag behind their white peers in terms of academic achievement, high dropout rates, and limited opportunities for skilled employment. To bridge this gap, personal tutors can play a crucial role by offering customized guidance and support to BAME students, addressing their unique challenges, and fostering a sense of academic self-efficacy and belonging.

This learning activity helps personal tutors to understand their role in promoting inclusivity and equity.
