Session Outline

A sequel to the Enagaging With Students Through Technology workshop, this interactive workshop session prepares you to effectively support your students in the next academic year by enabling them to engage remotely with you, their personal tutor/academic advisor. This workshop focuses on setting up your VLE and other intentionally chosen technologies to effectively support students at a distance.

Participants will:

  • identify the technologies they can use to support students working remotely
  • configure their essential personal equipment for remote student support and interaction
  • create a coordinated informational resource to share important information and resources with students

This session addresses the following competencies of the UKAT Professional Framework for Advising and Tutoring
I7 - Data and information technology applicable to tutoring
P1 - Create and support environments that consider the needs and perspectives of students, and respect individual learners
P3 - Commit to students, colleagues, and their institutions through engagement in continuing professional development, scholarly enquiry, and the evaluation of professional practices
