Session Outline

Advising/personal tutoring has moved from the fringes of higher education to the centre of student success initiatives. Sometimes it may not be valued enough that it takes an awareness of the skills and competencies needed in the form of development and training to do this role well. Panellists will talk about advising/tutoring taking into account the global pandemic.

The session facilitates sharing through a chaired panel discussion. Delegates will gain an understanding of the skills and competencies for effective advising and personal tutoring. We hope this will be a lively discussion session, out of which new ideas, synergies and partnerships will arise to influence the direction of academic advising and personal tutoring in HE.
