Session Outline

Following on from the King’s What Works Department report on the first year experience of students from care-experienced, estranged and forced migrant backgrounds, I will be running focus groups with students from these groups to find out more about their experience of personal tutoring, how this provision can be improved for them at King’s and how to best engage these students with personal tutoring. I will present my findings from these focus groups, as well as outlining the personal tutoring provision for these students at King’s.

Attendees will receive insight into students from these priority groups, specifically in relation to personal tutoring, as well as examples of good practice at King’s and will have the opportunity to discuss further enhancements that could be made at their own institution.
