Session Outline

An important goal for UKAT is to advance its members' practice and professional development by providing quality resources that are easily accessible, so we are seeking to build a community for developing and sharing Creative Commons personal tutoring resources. The UKAT Advisory Board has encouraged UKAT to provide, in one organised and searchable central location, resources to support tutors' professional development and resources that tutors can use in their practice with students.

This session, presented by members of UKAT’s Technology SIG, seeks to advance this effort by considering the types of resources that can be offered and presenting options for categorization, representation, and distribution. This session will present a standard representation format and a resource repository prototype using examples of different types. The four distinct aims of this session are to:

  1. collaboratively identify the key features of a process for contributing resources
  2. seek feedback from potential contributors of resources on the format for representing and contributing resources
  3. seek feedback from potential consumers of resources on the features and usability of the prototype resource repository
  4. provide examples of Creative Commons resources that can be created and to assist other SIGs within UKAT that wish to collaborate in this effort.
