Session Outline

Open to all delegates, this roundtable will focus on the development of visions and strategies for advising and personal tutoring at the institutional level. A growing number of HE institutions within the UK (and beyond) acknowledge the potential of academic advising and personal tutoring for enhancing student outcomes and strengthening the institutional profile. Diverse perspectives and traditions regarding advising and personal tutoring within institutions often make the development of a shared, institutional vision and related policies and strategies a daunting task. Leaders from several HE institutions in the UK will share their experience, with ample opportunity for delegates to join the conversation.

During this roundtable we will also explore the potential of launching a Special Interest Group (SIG) on institutional advising leadership.
